A Small Change is a blog about fundraising. This is a place for non-profits to ask questions about fund development, a place for people seeking work in fundraising, and a place for me to post some ideas and experiences.
My name is Jason Dick and I live in Redmond, Washington. I work for Hopelink a non-profit organization that works with low-income families to move them out of poverty. My work is with local businesses helping them to develop their community giving plan. I have developed their corporate giving program involving everything from sponsorships and grants to marketing partnerships and contributions. I have worked in both the USA and Canada in the non-profit industry for over 5 years in education, health care, and social services.
As you can imagine I do not know everything about fundraising. I decided to create this blog because I have a number of friends that work with small local non-profits and have found that one of their biggest obstacles is having enough support to do what they do. Through a number of conversations I thought I would try to create a blog where a number of development officers can provide advice and ideas to a number of small non-profits.
Please if you have any additional questions post them on the “Ideas, Questions & Answers” page. I would be happy to talk with you about specific projects that you are working on or provide you with ideas and help. I have a lot of ideas for where this web page can go but would love to get your input.
